High Five Construction were recently approached to deal with issues with the Concrete walls to Wellington College Real Tennis Court.
The Building housing the Court at Wellington College was constructed 2 1/2 years ago but during that time the impact of the balls hit at velocity against the Court walls exposed that the original concrete was failing and beginning to crack. Following extensive repair of the Concrete using Remmers Betofix R2 Mortar the problem was to surface the walls to the fine tolerances required to allow the ball to react in the correct way on the rebound. High Five carried out some samples using Fosroc Renderoc FC but even this very fine aggregate product sponged finished was deemed not smooth enough so the surface then had to be sanded. It was important to the designers that the surface retained the look and appearance of Concrete, in order to achieve this High Five turned to Keim Mineral paints and their Concretal Lasur was trialled and accepted. Keim colour batched this in Wellington College’s trademark BLUE house colour and our skilled applicators applied the product. This was a very exacting Project but High Five used their skills and expertise to achieve a great result.
